History:
Levi Benjamin Waller IV was born at Byron Central Hospital in Ewingsdale, Australia at 7:35 pm on Saturday, April 6th, 2002. He was born 19 minutes after his sister, Veronica. The twins were born into a wealthy Byron Bay family. Byron Bay is known for its tourism and surfing. So, for the most part, no one actually lives in Byron Bay full time, but the Wallers do. They own one of the fancier resorts in Byron Bay, started by their great-grandfather, Levi Waller. Their grandparents, Levi Waller II and Cassandra Waller were demigods of Empanda and Cupid, respectively.

Levi was always a free spirit. He would roam off and get himself lost if Veronica wasn’t following behind making sure that they could get back. Since their dad was always hard at work running the resort, they had a lot of free reign. They spent almost their time together, though. When they were 3, the pair started in gymnastics and surfing. They both fell in love with both. They were fortunate enough to be wealthy and be able to do their favorite activities as much as they liked. Levi really enjoyed surfing and being out on the water.

Levi also loved that his family owned the resort. It was his dream to one day be able to run it, just like all the Levi Benjamin Waller’s before him. He was kind and hospitable, the things that people liked when they were on vacation. He started helping around the resort when he was young and as he got older started to do more and more. Eventually, he started being an assistant for surfing lessons, too. Surfing would always be the thing that meant the most to Levi, and Byron Bay was one of the best places in the world to do that.

Levi and Veronica started their journey to camp at the age of 11. They were both placed into the first cohort. Here, they met their cousins, and their mother, Holly, the sister of their dad, who had chosen to stay in New Rome after her time in the legion. Levi loved training with the legion and took to sword fighting very easily. He missed being able to surf everyday, though.


A Memory:
Levi was 6 years old and it was August of 2008. He had been surfing for more than 3 years now and he was finally starting to get truly good at it. His grandfather had brought him and his twin sister, Veronica, out this afternoon. His dad was stuck dealing with some staffing issues at the resort but was going to meet them at the beach when he could get away. Sundays were always family day for the Wallers.

Levi was wearing his brand new dark blue wetsuit. He was carrying his surfboard. Even though it was scaled down to his size, he still was toddling down the beach trying to balance it. Veronica was next to him in a pink wetsuit, struggling with her board even more than him. When they reached the water, they put their boards in the water. It was a relatively calm day on the water so their grandfather was sitting kind of far back reading a biography on Eddie Mabo.

The twins paddled out deep into the water. Surfing still made Levi nervous sometimes. He hadn’t completely conquered the fear yet, but he was really hoping that he would get there soon. When he looked up, he realized that he wasn’t too close. A huge wave was coming right at them, bigger that either of them had ridden before. Levi looked at Veronica, who was looking at him terrified. They swallowed and paddled in to tackle the wave.

Not a second after standing up, they both hit the water again. When Levi surfaced, he couldn’t see Veronica. As he looked around, he got slammed by another wave, pushing him down into the water. Levi opened his eyes to see Veronica under the water. They both got pulled back as the wave went over there head. They were both struggling to regain control and get above the water. Levi moved over to be in line with Veronica and as they got pulled back by the power of another wave, he slammed into her.

The pair pushed to the top of the water. The bout of rough waves seemed to have passed. They both looked terrified, but neither of them were panting for air. They turned to look at where there grandfather was sitting. He was still reading his book.
“We are not telling him about that.” Levi said. Veronica nodded in agreement and they turned and let themselves be pushed to shore. Levi thought a lot about that day after it happened. In a way, it helped to quell his fear, as terrifying as it had been.
