Personality: Danny knows what he seems like: a dumb hick from West Virginia whose favorite pastimes include whiskey, football, and yelling "Murica" at the top of his lungs—and guess what, they're not wrong about the whiskey. The accent, the jargon, and the love of pepperoni rolls probably don't help with the stereotype, and he's fine with it. Danny may act like some uneducated inebriate, but that's only because he likes it when people underestimate him. Being an idiot redneck from the Fifth usually means no one's watching you, which usually means you can do whatever you want, which uber-independent Danny is pretty happy with. If you actually manage to see through his facade, you'll find a very humorous and fun-spirited individual who will talk about Hamilton and the art of turkey-calling in the same sentence. The loudness isn't a disguise, though; Danny can be very boisterous when he's excited.

Abilities (doesn't use energy to do):

• Fireproof. As a son of Vulcan, Danny is fireproof and immune to extreme heat. His clothes, however, are not.
  
• Mastersmith. As a son of Vulcan, Danny has intimate knowledge of metals and the forge as well as how to construct various weaponry, mechanisms, or anything else in that area of expertise.
  
• Telumkinesis. Limited. As a son of Vulcan, Danny can tell the structural flaws of a weapon by touching it. He can then demonstrate the flaws by picking up the weapon and hacking it against the wall until it breaks apart, revealing these structural issues.

History (four sentences or more):
Whitney Lynch was a welder working on the pipeline when she met Vulcan. They bonded over their love of the trade and continued to see each other for about four months when Whitney got the news that she was pregnant. Believing that Vulcan would marry her, she immediately informed him of this development; to her surprise, however, Vulcan did not bring up marriage and instead left, never to be seen by her again.

Hurt and bitter, Whitney quickly and rashly married Robert Parsons in order to support her child, whom she named Otis after her father and Daniel after Robert's father in the hope that her husband would connect with the newborn. At first, all seemed well: Robert obviously adored Danny, as they called him, and did his best to be a good father while Whitney was recovering. However, he got laid off from his job, so he soon turned to drinking. Constantly.

Danny lived with his mother and this raging drunk for seven years before Whitney finally got fed up and divorced Robert; however, financial issues and Whitney's own addictions soon led to her son moving in with his grandparents. It was there that Danny discovered his love for working with metal, in his grandpa's shed was always littered with tools and the like for him to mess with. It was there that Danny first picked up a hammer. It was there that Danny made his first knife—an ugly, crude thing that he was so very proud of.

Shortly after his eleventh birthday, Danny was found by Lupa's wolves. After six months of training it was decided that he was worthy, and they led Danny to Camp Jupiter where he was immediately claimed by Vulcan. With no family influence or any recommendation letters to boot, he was stuffed in he Fifth Cohort, where he's remained ever since.
