Julien Bianchi Empty Julien Bianchi

Thu Apr 11, 2019 6:18 pm
Julien Bianchi F1bbbb10

Name: Julien Bianchi
Nickname(s): Jules, JB
Gender: Male (he/him/his)
Age: 18
Birthday: Feb. 9, 2001.
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: Julien is a jovial fellow, and why should he not be? With a future in motorsports almost secured and enough money to his name to not worry about the ills of life, why not be on the bright side of life? Julien spreads this joy for life by placing insane bets on almost everything in almost any currency and looking to spar with anyone. Yes, he will bet on himself. No, he will not throw the match. Yes, he will bet on himself and take the monetary loss over the “real” loss. That is Nike kids for you.
Flaws (five or more):
Julien is plagued by bad acne, as well as being much more prone to minor injuries/infections like plantar warts, blisters, and Athlete's Foot.
In the heat of competition or battle Julien can become irritable — especially if he loses.
When he was down in the pits at one of his father's races, a tire fell off of a rack and landed on Julien's left foot. Several trips to the doctor and four years of healing later, he now has a slight limp when he walks and can not run very well.
While his dyslexia is better than the average demigod's, Julien suffers from enhanced ADHD. While this has its benefits in battle, Julien can barely remain focused without assistance when in peacetime.
Being the son of a minor goddess Julien feels the need to go toe to toe with anyone with a major god parent, especially when it comes to “Big Three” children.
Julien has a gambling problem. Apparently betting on anything competitive is not sound financial advice.

Positives:
Julien’s time at camp has made him knowledgeable on Hellenic combat techniques, specifically techniques surrounding the xiphos
For someone who holds Swiss, New York and FIA driving licenses, it should be no surprise that Julien is a very capable car driver
Growing up in Switzerland has made Julien a bit of a winter sports nut, though he really loves snowboarding. He keeps a board, bindings and boots in the Nike cabin in case anyone wants to shred down Half-Blood Hill.
After going between Europe and the United States so many times, Julien is able to handle jet lag like a champion

Eye color: Brown
Hair description: Dark brown, long and curly, Julien’s hair is one of his most distinctive features
Height: 5ft 7in
Skin tone: Light tan
Ethnicity: Swiss/Italian
Body structure: Julien is lean with moderate muscle buildup
Personal Appearance: Nearly always sporting some kind of flat-brimmed snapback, Julien has the BRAND look on point. Usually combining the clothes provided by sponsors like Adidas, Red Bull and GoPro with whatever else he can find, Julien typically looks like the modern model for the capitalist age. A normal outfit for Julian would be a New Era hat, team jacket over a personal sponsor’s shirt, either joggers or jeans (both overpriced) and a fresh pair of Adidas to finish the look.
Armor: Relatively standard celestial bronze Greek armor, including helmet, breastplate, a right bracer for that wrist, and shin guards. A piece of leather on his right shoulder protects an area wounded in the Battle of the Labyrinth, while the left shin guard is extended to shield the top of the foot.
Other details?: Julien’s racing helmet has an orange base with black, white and green stripes running horizontally along it. The colors may change depending on the team and sponsors.

Place of Birth (city, state, country): Mt. Olympus
Mortal Parent: Silvio Bianchi
God Parent: Nike
Relationship with God Parent: While a younger Julien had a brief meeting with Nike after the Second Titan War, his attempts to stay in her good grace seem to have gone well. Communication has been godly levels of poor, but a small string of victories back in 2018 sure seem to be signs of something. Nike claimed him after the Second Titan War.
Abilities (doesn't use energy to do):
Julien is able to run 20% faster than a normal human
His accuracy is increased by 30% at all ranges when in all competitive and combative events, but this does not extend into practice.
In the name of good sportsmanship, Julien's tolerance to alcohol and drugs is much lower than the average person.
Powers (uses energy to do): Julien does not have any powers
Weapon: Celestial bronze xiphos sword with a composite grip, chrome plating at the top of the hilt, and a matte carbon black finish on the blade. He made the sword back in his fourth summer, adding the chrome and aftermarket grip after heading home and scoping out the local historical reenactment/Roman LARP scene. Julien carries a celestial bronze dagger on him for whenever he needs to be inconspicuous. A friend from the Hephaestus cabin helped Julien make a celestial bronze shield in his fifth summer.
Pets (if any): Julien does not own any pets

History (four sentences or more):
Silvio Bianchi: Growing up in an Italian family with motorsports heritage dating back to the pre-war era, Silvio was enamored by the prospect of racing glory. His parents — especially his mother, who lost her father and brother to racing accidents in the ‘60s and ‘70s, respectively — were less enthusiastic about their son finding a career as a racer. They did their best to turn young Silvio away from his deadly attraction to speed, but even obsessive parenting could not prevent their helicopter from crashing in the French Alps. With his parents stuck in a cold fiery grave, Silvio was sent to Capriasca, Switzerland to live with his Aunt and Uncle.

While Swiss law forbid auto racing at the time, Silvio and his more supportive relatives was able to commute into Italy to fulfil his racing dreams. By the start of the 1990s, he was a full time driver for a team from Lyon, France going back and forth between the team’s sportscar and rallying divisions. In late 1999, Silvio’s event-winning performance at a Greek rally caught the attention of a spectator who approached him after the weekend. Their relationship was short and passionate, but he would not learn the full nature of it until a golden cradle and child were placed before his Lyon stoop.

Julien Bianchi, the Lead Foot of Capriasca: Placed before his father in a golden cradle bearing a laurel, dagger and note, Julien was destined for victory from birth. While his first few years among mortals were spent in France, Silvio’s career was in a golden age during the 2000s. He won at the 24 Hours of LeMans, France and the 1000k of Bathurst, Australia, winning the money needed to buy out his aging relatives’ Capriasca home. In 2005 Julien began his Karting career in Italy and began competing at the European level in 2009. Throughout his early career Julien saw various strange and unnatural-looking creatures on his travel, which his father brushed off as hallucinations whenever he brought it up. But in 2011 a “hallucination” tried attacking Julien outside of an event in Hockenheim, Germany, and Silvio knew he could not spare Julien from the truth any longer. He was placed on a plane with Silvio’s team manager and satyr Horacio Granados and guided from the runway in Suffolk County, New York to Camp Half-Blood.

Julien spent his first two years at camp unclaimed in the Hermes cabin. While his 2011 karting season was declared over for his safety, his full summer at camp set the groundwork for friendships down the line. Those friendships came in handy the next summer when he was tapped for a combat mission following the Battle of the Labyrinth to kill a group of monsters trying to set up a cell in Manhattan, which evolved into a quest to recover the shield of Ares and kill the rouge demigod who stole it in Cooperstown, New York. While he was upset when his mother failed to claim him upon the successful return of the mission/quest team, he remained loyal to the gods for the Battle of Manhattan and was finally claimed at the conclusion of the Second Titan War. Outside of his claiming, Julien’s 2013 racing season saw him win the European Karting Championship and his entry into the Italian Formula Four series for 2014. His racing success played well with his at-camp victories, and by 2017 he was a reserve driver for an IndyCar team. In 2018 Julien was elected as leader of the Nike cabin and became a full-time camper to fulfil his camp duties and remain close to his employers.

Time at Camp: Julien has been at Camp Half-Blood for eight (8) years with seven beads on his necklace
Full-Time or Seasonal: Full-time

A Memory: Saturday, May 20, 2017.

Julien sits in the makeshift trailer office of Langhe Family Racing, a small-time Wisconsin effort that was trying to graduate from month of May spoiler to full season backmarker. The team’s “star” driver, the pushing 40 year old Frenchman Remy DuPonte, had disqualified himself from the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race by slamming his car into the wall and being pulled away from the fiery wreck from a stretcher. After an afternoon of thoughts and prayers, it became clear to team owner George Langhe Jr. that it was impossible to run the 500 from the intensive care unit. A replacement was needed ASAP.

After making a quick check on who was close enough to actually make it in time for the race, they settled on phoning the Swiss kid from New York to see if he could make it to Indy in a week. By the trademark Langhe Luck™, “Bee-an-chee” was already in town. An 8:00 p.m. “shotgun meeting” was scheduled, and there was no way Julien was going to be late for this.

“Now there,” the obtuse Langhe Jr. said as he sloshed his way into the room ten minutes behind schedule, the odor of pork tenderloin radiating from his sun bleached maw. “Mister Bee-an-chee, are you fully aware of why I’ve called you in here todAy?”

Si signore,” Julien replies, done so in a manner and tone so reserved that his brothers and sisters back at camp would likely do a double take in shock and awe. He would have been more excited, but a fellow driver was off in the hospital probably half dead and sucking mashed peas from a tube. A bit of sincerity did not seem to hurt.

“Aw cut that E-tall-E-an crap out,” Langhe Jr. replies with a swipe of his flabby arm and breathy laugh, “ya makin’ me look bad.”

“Sorry sign- sir.”

“Now, my good fellow Remy is off in the IU ICU and he’s not gonna be comin’ down ‘ere for the five hundred. We need a filler driver, and you stuck out on the list.”

“Thank you s-” Laghne Jr. shot up his greasy hand.

“Now lemme finish here sonny. We’ve got us a car being peeped right now for ya, and the Andretti boys are letting us use their simulator to give you something to go off of before Monday. And while Remy was fast and would have us up on in the points -”

He stopped to breath for what seemed to be an eternity, before catching up with his train of thought.

“- We need ya to be keepin’ ya head down and focus on finishing. This here car’s our last, and we can’t lose it.”

“Understandable enough.”

“Fantastic,” he said with an extended paw of a hand, expecting the Swiss-Italian rookie to fully grasp it. Julien’s half-hearted shake would do for now. “Welcome to the Langhe family, Mister Bee-an-chee.

“Thank you signore. I will not let you down.”

“Watch that tongue,” he shot back with a point, “and I hope you don’t. Now go get yerself some rest and be back here for the press conference at 8 o’clock sharp. Lord knows I’ve kept you from your siesta long enough.”

••••

Julien steeped out of the Winnebago office, seizing Horacio’s attention by slamming the door.

“How’d it go?” The disguised satyr glanced away from his phone for a bit, letting the heated email exchange with the Red Bull rep simmer for a bit. “Is he as scummy in person as he is on the phone?”

“You have no idea mi amico.” Julien reached for an itch on his back. “You have no idea.”
