Skye laughs, "Either way, I think its nice that some things haven't changed." She can be sentimental sometimes, as much as she tries not to be. She's weird that way, she's afraid of being too sentimental. Mainly she doesn't want to be a pack rat. Still, she likes the memories that the club house brings up. She was really happy when she was little, and she's really happy now, but its a different kind of happy.

She knows she shouldn't laugh that much, but the thought of Teighlur and the spear in the wall plus the molly that is still in her system, and so she laughs a little too long. She can feel her phone vibrating in her pocket, no doubt Bex or Hannah trying to find out her location, they'd be fine though. They'd probably forget about her once they heard their song come on or someone asks them to dance.

Skye runs out of things to at, so she finds her way back to Lachlan, taking a seat next to him on the love seat. She remembers sitting on the same love seat, years ago on the first night that Lachlan had the club house to himself. She had spent probably far too long planning that out, and she's not sure where her party planning skills went, but they certainly weren't present anymore. Though that's usually due to time. Anyways, when Lachlan brings it up her mind goes straight to the thing that was probably going through his head too. An empty coca cola bottle spinning around an empty table, every spin leaving them hoping it wouldn't end on Tilur.

"Yeah," Skye says, "Delilah had to kiss Thaileur, but then she refused and only kissed him on the cheek." Though she knows that's probably not what Lachlan is thinking of.

Lachlan watched as Skye laughed longer than she probably would have. He liked this version of Skye, even if it was just a temporary drug induced state. She seemed so much more light and carefree. That was one of the things that had always been a point of contention between them. Skye was much more of a 'seize the day and night,' hardworking, intense type while Lachlan was much more 'let's go with the flow.' This version of Skye seemed much more capable of chilling out and smelling the roses. This is the kind of Skye he could actually have some fun with.

Lachlan watched Skye sit down next to him in the same spot she had sat 5 years earlier, when the couch was new and didn't have the pizza stains or the rip from when he watched Bear that one time. He guessed that he was sitting in the same place, too, but he felt so different. It was easy to look at Skye and see her at 11 than it was to look at himself and see himself the same way. How weird how easy it was to simplify someone else, but so hard to do to yourself.

Lachlan laughed hard when Skye brought up to Delilah/Thighleur situation. "Gods, 11 year old me never wanted to let her live that down, both because Tighleuor and because she broke the rules." Of all the Cul De Six, Delilah was the person who he still saw the most. It wasn't too frequently, but Delilah was like his sister. They'd exchange birthday and holiday gifts and hangout and catch up. It was nice to still have her around, even if they were drastically different people from each other.

"And Delilah ended up the most straight edge of us all, which is no surprise." He laughed. He couldn't imagine sitting here with Delilah, both because he couldn't imagine her drunk or high like this, but also because he was moving closer to Skye.

Skye nods, suddenly finding that she doesn't want to talk about Delilah anymore. Not because she doesn't like Delilah, she really does, but she feels wrong to mention at the moment, especially with Lachlan getting closer. This is crazy, right? She needs to think about this for a second. This is Lachlan. Caroline's Lachlan. Delilah's Lachlan. This isn't just something she can stumble into. She needs to be one hundred percent sure she's okay with this. No uncertainty allowed.

She pauses for a second, and she wishes she took a higher dose. This is too much thinking. Maybe she did just decide to think about this, but really, what will thinking do? She just needs to make a decision, but she can't.

"We also kissed that night." She says. She's not really sure why she's bringing it up, maybe its a way to judge Lachlan's intentions, maybe she's just trying to break the silence. She does remember that night though, kissing him during spin the bottle. He was her first kiss, and she's not sure how she feels about it. Well, she does know he's a better option than her second kiss.

The buzzing in her pocket starts to get annoying, so Skye says, "Hold on" and pulls her phone out. Bex is calling her and she knows if she answers she'll get an earful, so Skye just declines, puts her phone on airplane mode, and places it face down on the coffee table. Then she turns her attention back to Lachlan.

Lachlan watched Skye's face as she shifted the topic to them. He had to wonder what she was trying to shift away from. She did bring up the thing that he had been thinking all about. He smiled cheekily at her.

"Did we really? I didn't remember that." He said in a light and airy tone. Of course Lachlan remembered. It was actually a memory that he had a lot. That day, in general, had been pretty amazing. He always loved parties at his place, especially once they started to drink. It was a lot easier when you didn't have to stumble home drunk after a party. Of course, they weren't drinking when they were 11. They were playing all of the cheesy party games that people that age did. Hence, spin the bottle. Lachlan smiled at Skye.

"I'm just joking. I will never forget that I was your first kiss." Lachlan said with a small wink to Skye. As she pulled out her phone, Lahclan had a second to think about all of this. This was Skye Maddox, his next door neighbor, Caroline's number 1 enemy, centurion. They were sitting close to each other now, far closer than where they had been sitting before. It would be all too easy to make a move right now, but was that what he wanted? As she turned her attention back to him, he had to admit he did.

Skye rolls her eyes when Lachlan plays dumb. She knows he knows that it happened, and she refuses to give into his attempt to mess with her. So she just waits for him to admit it. It's strange to think back to that night, because it didn't feel romantic. If anything, it was kind of ambivalent. They weren't as close at the time to feel like they were kissing a sibling, and they also weren't distant enough to be nervous about it. It was a kiss. That's about it. She felt more nervous about kissing Jaden Terry, and everyone knows how that ended.

Skye can only smile, feeling like she's about to laugh again. She's not sure why, maybe its the molly. The air feels warm and heavy, like a summer night, even though Fall has already set in. She's aware of every breath she takes, and the fact that it doesn't seem to be enough. She knows this night isn't going to last forever, and if she's going to do something she should do it now, except she's still not sure if she wants to change everything just yet. Even as she's leaning in closer. So, she drags out the moment, savoring every second, and asks, "Who was your first kiss anyways?"

Lachlan shifted his position so that his arm was still on the back of the love seat, but now it was behind Skye. He blew out dramatically and laughed when Skye asked about his first kiss. "I hope you're not expecting some big dramatic story. I kissed Lauren Kinsey on the playground underneath the yellow play set when we were 10." Lauren was honestly pretty hot now. Of all the people that his first kiss could have been with, he wasn't upset that it was her. He kind of wondered what she was up to lately.

Lachlan looked at Skye. "If it makes you feel better, I would rather have it have been you." Lachlan said, fully leaning into the flirting. He wasn't sure if that was totally true, but it got his point across. Lachlan twirled a strand of Skye's hair around his finger. There was really no turning back on his side anymore. His bus was driving full speed ahead, but he was hoping that he wasn't gonna crash into the wall. As confident as he was most of the time, he couldn't be the same guy he usually was with Skye. He guessed that, at least, she could see through any facade he put up.

Skye raises her eyebrows at Lachlan's not-story about his first kiss. She holds back her urge to tease him about starting young, instead saying "Did you know Lauren Kinsey was the first girl I kissed?" It's true. They kissed when they were fourteen. It was after she unceremoniously dumped Jaden Terry after going out with him for almost two weeks. She probably should've dumped him after the third day, but she was hoping he'd be the one to break it off, but then he didn't. Anyways, her and Lauren were hanging out and they got into the conversation about Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl and they decided to try it. It honestly isn't as thrilling as it seems. It didn't even make her realize she liked girls. That wasn't until later that year when she saw Carol. Anyways.

Skye can't help but smile when Lachlan says he'd rather it be her, not because she thinks its sweet, but because it feels like a terrible line. Still, her face isn't getting any further away. They're only inches away from each other, and Skye's taking her sweet time. Mainly because she knows it will drive Lachlan crazy, and she can't pass up this opportunity. She's also waiting to see if he'll make the first move.

Lachlan honestly felt like this was a game at this point. A game of chicken, who would give in first. That felt like how things were with Skye for their whole lives. It was either a game or a competition. He remembered when they were kids playing games and they would always have to try and one up each other. Lachlan usually won, or at least that was how he chose to remember it. There wasn't anyone to tell him that he was wrong, anyway. Until now he hadn't talked to any of his childhood friends in months.

"Hey there's something else that we have in common." Lachlan said. He was going a little bit crazy. It was like that country song: that Fireball Whisky was whispering temptation in his ear.It was taking all of Lachlan's willpower, which was admittedly much lower than normal at the moment, not to pull Skye into him and kiss her. He knew though that that'd be a win for her and he was not going to go into the red with her so quickly. He needed her to be the one who breaks.

At this point Skye is just waiting to see how long she could drag this out. They're already close enough to make a nun faint. It's the simple intimacy of the near touch, coupled with very very close talking. Even at this point she just wants to give in and kiss the boy, but it's a matter of principle now. Maybe its the last bit of sober Skye telling her to think this through before making a move, maybe she just likes being a dick. Though, she kind of likes the face Lachlan is making.

Still, each second she waits she knows she should probably do something, but she's not going to just let him win at a game he might not even know they're playing, so she says, "So are you going to kiss me or are we just going to keep making small talk?" If he's just here to reminisce while sitting extremely close, so be it, she just feels like they should address the elephant in the room. If he wants to just make small talk, fine, she can talk about the damn weather.

Lachlan didn't know how to respond to what Skye said. He didn't know if this was some kind of trick play in their game, and if giving in would just be playing into her hand. So, he turned his eyebrows in. "What the hell, Skye? We've been friends since we were kids! I thought we were just catching up!" Lachlan said, but his voice hinted to the fact that it was an attempt at deception. After all, he actually hadn't moved away from her at all.

Lachlan studied her face with a mix of disgust and confusion, but slowly the smile returned. He couldn't keep it together for that long, actually. Lachlan started laughing. "Of course I'm going to kiss you. This does count as you giving in, though. Not me." Lachlan placed his hands on both sides of Skye's face and pulled her in until their lips met. It was simultaneously the weirdest and the best thing to be here kissing Skye, but it was happening, and there was no turning back. Lachlan felt like a new path had been forged, and it went on for miles.

Skye doesn't even fall for his attempt to mess with her. She's confident in her knowledge of the situation here, and she has the molly to back her up. So she just raises an eyebrow at him, staying just as close as she was, waiting for him to knock it off. He used to be, and still is, very good at getting a rise out of her. Except right now she's too high and far gone to let it work.

Then he's kissing her. She wants to argue over the fact that he's the one that actually gave in, but she doesn't want to stop kissing him. So, she lets the comment fade away, just like the rest of the world does. She never thought she'd be here right now, kissing her next door neighbor, kissing the boy who she absolutely should not be kissing. Still, she doesn't care. Caroline can eat her heart out. Cause she's doing this. Maybe she'll regret it by the sun comes up, but she's not changing her mind now.

Then, as time does, it passes.

Skye finds herself standing outside Lachlan's guest house, closing the door behind her. The air has truly grown cold now, settling in with her sobriety, leaving her feeling it all. Lachlan is still asleep in his loft. She knows she is not the only one finding their way home right now, and she knows her journey is short. She can't help but sigh, not in a bad way, really. The reality of what just happened is starting to sink in. Yeah, she did that. She probably shouldn't have. She knows that whatever happens next, the connection between them will never be the same. Though, there was never really a status quo to conform to. They have never been a constant. They were a roller coaster between friends to adversaries to practical strangers, maybe this was just a loop in the track before they find another hill to climb or dip to take. She knows that this will not become a habit. This will not become the new normal. Not because she doesn't want it to, because even after everything she knows she'll want to go back, but because she knows it will only be bad for her. So she forces herself to walk back to her house, and she will not turn around and look back. Except she does. Right when she's about to go inside, she finds herself glancing over before she even knows what she's done.
