surviving drills Empty surviving drills

Bess Nakamura stood alongside the other queen bs, crossing her arms and leaning on one hip. It was morning drill, which meant that they had to do all the stupid formations and act like they were going to war. It was boring, plus, they had to wear the camp tshirts. Bess had spent like her first three weeks at camp cutting up the t-shirts into tank tops and adding fun designs on them so she didn't look so drab. Then, when you pair it with short shorts, well, she looked cute.

"Ugh," Bess complained, sticking the end of her sword in the dirt and drawing a little "B", "how much longer do we have to do this?"

Berkeley Candela would give both of her favorite Prada bags to never have to go to these stupid drills again. She hated having to follow orders as if everyone here didn't know that her, Blair, and Bess could easily go full anarchy on this place without even taking off their heels. It didn't help that they had to do it looking like peasants. Her camp t-shirt is tucked into a pair of high waisted black jean shots. The sleeves are rolled up making an almost cute outfit, in kind of a 90s chic way. Anyway, Berkeley could wear a brown sack and they'd be selling it at Old Navy by the end of the month.

"Our drill is letting them think that we feel like we have to do these drills. It's all about letting the powers at be believe that they can control us." Berkeley mused, spinning a dagger around her finger. "If it's much longer, though, I will stage a mutiny and not even think twice about it."

It sucked being in the drills. It was just an hour if not more of wasted time standing in a formation that they would never stand in out in the real world. No one even fought like this anymore and they weren't going to war any time soon. The Romans and made some kind of decent deal with the Greeks to keep peace and there wasn't much else that was opposing them. It wasn't even the fact they had to be in a gods awful formation, it was more so they had to wear the ugliest shirt of all time.

Blair had a tshirt that was a size smaller than they originally tried to give her, she wanted it to be tighter than how baggy it looked on other people. She cut it so it would be a slight crop top that she would pair with a pair of high waisted black jeans. The sleeves of the camp jupiter shirt had also been cut off, because who wanted sleeves? they were despicable.

"I should have worn ruby slippers and tapped them three times. Then I wouldn't have to be in this nightmare." Blair said obviously annoyed. She looked over to the other two with a smirk on her face, "We could mess with some people since we have time to kill and a lot of potentials?"

If Bess could have sighed and gotten away with it, she would have. She was hoping they could've waited a little bit longer before their reign of terror began. It was so much easier when they bitched among themselves. When they got other people involved it just left Bess with an uneasy feeling in her stomach and an overwhelming feeling of guilt. She was happy that she was busy most of the time, so then she could be exempt from their ploys.

"We could also just leave. There's nothing they can do to keep us here. Plus, my mom just got some new stock in from Barneys and she said we could go try some stuff on." She hoped that was enough of a distraction to keep Berkeley and Blair from doing anything terrible.

Berkeley's smile turned up into a wicked grin when Blair suggested causing some trouble. The smile was enough to remind you how much devil their was inside of the raven haired girl. She scanned over the group of legionnaires and its leaders. They were in drill mode. In drill mode, everything was precise and predicatble. Even the tiniest ripple could lead to a full blown tsunami. The daughter of Pluto was out for absolute, full-blow chaos.

Berkeley's head snapped back around when Bess suggested that they just leave. "Gods, Bess, sometimes you just don't get it." She rolled her dark eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, tipping her head to the side. "We're sharks and there's blood in the water today. Do sharks stop the hunt when their is a bunch of weak and bloody prey right in front of them?" Berkeley asked her girls.

It was a smile that got place on her face in a way nothing else made her light up a room. Finding people to bug and pester was one of her greatest pleasures in life, could it have been just a way to cope with everything in her life? Possibly. It was just a natural thing to do, since the day she was born it was fighting among the sharks to keep your place or you just simply weren't. That narrative in her life didn't even blink or change for a second when she got to camp. Being with Berkeley was a whole new level. She could have tried to reinvent herself and been someone else, but there was someone like her. Someone just as bitchy and mean as she was and in some weird sense she felt completely validated.

As she was in the midst of looking when she got snapped to the conversation between the three groups. It was a little bit of conflict with Bess and Berkeley which wasn't the most uncommon thing in the room, but it wasn't that common either. "Sharks never stop, they're cold blooded." Blair said with a little roll of her eye, but then she pointed to a girl not far from them in the crowd, "There's always her."
