Oliver was instantly back in the mood of the party. No part of him was thinking about what had happened before. He was here, and he was alive. When they got back into the party, he broke from the other four and snuck up behind Emily. He wrapped his arms around her waist and picked her up, spinning around. He heard her laughing along with Bry. He would have been pretty mad if he had died without spending a little more time with these two.

As he jumped up and down to Sugar, We're Going Down with the pair, Delilah, and Hannah when she pulled herself away from Leighton who had gotten sent on the alcohol mission, the boys made it back carrying a case each. Oliver turned around and made his way to the drinks with Delilah. She pulled out a bottle of scotch and talked about the night that they formally met.

"You are too unbelievably cute. I literally cannot with you." Oliver took the bottle from her and tipped it back. He passed it back to her and looked at her. He had gotten really lucky, and every part of him was nervous about messing this up. He had never felt this nervous with someone, so unsure of what the next right step was.

For the first time in a long while, Skye Maddox tries to drown out the world by drinking until everything turns blurry. She has only attended a couple parties since she's returned, and none of them included her drinking this much. Except she just watched her friend die, and every time she isn't fully focused on having a good time, she finds her mind drifting back to her conversation with Letus and her newfound memories. The numbness still sits in her chest and mixes with whatever she's drinking until it's all she can feel.

For a while she can feel like she can do this. She can pretend to have fun until she actually feels it. Except she never actually gets there. She just gets drunker and more in her head until she's reliving those memories like a record on repeat. She can't help but look over at Lachlan and feel guilty about everything she hasn't said to him. She can't help but wonder more and more if she's going to remember Dominic and Caroline's deaths. Even when the songs are loud in her ears and the drinks sting her throat.

Nineteen songs pass. She knows because she's keeping count. Sucker, Sugar We're Going Down, Three consecutive Taylor Swift songs, Old Town Road, Pursuit of Happiness, Bohemian Rhapsody, Pompeii, a song that she's pretty sure is sung by Billie Eilish, four Panic at the Disco Songs, Don't Stop Believing, Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Born this Way, Take Me to Church and finally, Nobody by Mitski. With each song she gets drunker and drunker, but she doesn't feel better. She just feels more disconnected, more in her head. Even with Lachlan right beside her she feels like she's in an empty room.

Nineteen songs are enough for her. Now all she wants to do is go home and collapse in her bed and wake up with a major hangover tomorrow. So, as the nineteenth song fades out, and Ariana Grande starts up, she taps on Lachlan's shoulder and tries to speak above the noise.

"I think I'm gonna go," She says, "You should stay and have fun, though."

Lachlan had not been to a party this good in a long time. Sure, that neon party after his birthday had been pretty awesome, but he had some conflicted feelings about it in retrospect. This was just honest, good fun. Lachlan was drinking quickly from the bottle and dancing to song after song with his super hot girlfriend and his boss friends. What was better than this?

As Mitski faded out and Ariana started talking about her exes, Lachlan felt Skye's hand on his arm. As he looked down at her, he realized that he was actually pretty drunk. He held up the bottle and looked at it, noticing that a fair percentage of it was gone. That explained why as Skye shouted over the music, her face was just not totally in focus.

He was able to tell that she was leaving, though. Lachlan's eyes immediately went over to Oliver. His arms were around Delilah as he sand along to Ariana Grande dramatically, with lots of facial expressions and arm movements. He looked no where near ready for the party to end, but here was Skye, deciding that the two of them were done. Sure, she had given him the out, but he'd learned from Caroline that if he stayed, he'd be in the doghouse tomorrow. So, he sighed and said,

"No, I'll go back with you. I don't want you to have to walk alone." His voice was flat, but he was doing what he was supposed to. He took Skye's hand and walked over to where Oliver was. "Hey, we're gonna head out. Happy birthday, dude. Oh, and I'm taking this." Lachlan waved the bottle. Oliver looked a little bit confused as Lachlan clapped him on the back, but when he pulled back, he was laughing and said,

"Have fun you two." And he added a wink. Lachlan just waved it off with a small laugh and started with Skye towards the stairs and the exit.

"Cute should have been my middle name, not going to lie." Delilah said in a teasing fashion as she began to take some sips from the bottle when Oliver was done with it. The two of the them spent time with Emily and Brian along with Kara and Charles. It was an interesting group of six, but they had fun singing along to the songs, sharing different stories, and liquor. This was probably the biggest party that Delilah had ever been to in all of her years of being a teenager, but that didn't say a lot.

Delilah and Oliver spent a good amount of the time dancing together or dancing with their other friends, but at some point during a song they'd find their way back to the other one. The legacy of Cupid could have been found with the bottle of scotch the most though. it used to burn going down her throat when they started off with it, but as the night progressed it started to lose its edge and became so much smoother to the tongue. Lilah was enjoying herself and despite her terrible dancing skills there was no room in the world to care for it with the influence of liquid encouragement.

It was only as the song turned to Arianna Grande that she noticed Lachlan and Skye come up to her and Oliver. The brunette could feel his arms around her as she listened to him sing along to the song. Listening to Oliver's voice as he sang was peaceful and calming to her ears, but the alcohol had its influence on her in a way that put a goofy smile on her face. If it had been earlier in the night, maybe Delilah would have been able to pick up on the facial expressions Skye and Lachlan had, but at this point most of the bottle was gone.

"Have fun! Remember to be safe!" The daughter of Epione called out to Skye and Lachlan with a little giggle.

Oliver was a bit confused when Lachlan came up to him and Delilah and said that they were leaving. Usually, Lachlan was the kind of guy that stuck it out to the end party. Of course, he had never had an official girlfriend like he did now. As Lachlan hugged him, he realized where they were probably going and it made more sense. So as the hug broke, he was laughing and said,

"Have fun you two." He blew a tipsy kiss to Skye and then turned back to Delilah. He took the Scotch bottle from her and finished the remainder and then kissed her. As they kissed, he wondered if the same was going to happen between him and Delilah that he was assuming about Skye and Lachlan. He felt his stomach do a nervous flip. He'd died, and this might be the scariest thing that happened today.

Instead of diving into it, Oliver just ignored it and decided to tear it up on the dance floor. He'd had plenty to drink and didn't want to risk getting sick that night, so he had laid off the drinking. Anyway, he didn't really know what dying did to your constitution. As the next couple of hours went by and people started to file out, Oliver watched as the grand clock hit midnight. There were still people left, and he was having a great time dancing with everyone, but he was ready to just be with his cute girlfriend.

"You wanna head out?" Oliver pulled Delilah in while they danced and whispered into her ear.

It was safe to say that at least Skye and Lachlan weren't the first few people to leave. A handful of p-eople had left before Olvier had even died and then others left during, but a big crowd was still left to party with. As much as Delilah didn't really enjoy being given the visual of Lachlan and Skye after parties, she really did hope her drunken vision had been good enough to see that they were fine and they were going off to do what everyone was expecting them to do.

None of that really mattered because in this instance Delilah had Oliver to celebrate with. Delilah was thankful for Oliver taking the remainder of the liquor in the bottle, because if she had anymore she was fairly sure she was going to end up feeling the way she felt after the Field of Mars party where the two of them had formally introduced each other. Before then Delilah had remembered seeing him in passing on Augustus Avenue or whenever him and Lachlan were just spending time together.

At this moment Delilah would just be seen dancing with her boyfriend and drinking water. If she had learned anything from her drunken nights of horror past, it was that she could have started drinking water earlier, but the insider information definitely came from her older sister.

When the cock began to strike midnight she could hear his whispered words and honestly she thought he'd never ask. Delilah had forced herself to get into a party mood, but in truth ever since Oliver had died, she just wanted to make sure he was okay and cuddle up close to him because in her mind it'd be easier to make sure she was there if a next time ever occurred.
